posted September 20, 2009 by Poots and Squeaks

Spreading honey over minor burns can cut healing time by as much as four days. First cool the burn with cold water for up to  20 minutes then rub honey & cover with a bandage. Make sure to change bandages at least once a day hen reapply honey each time. If you feel that the burn is infected make sure contact your MD ASAP!

On the Move Splinter Solution

If you're out and your child has a splinter, try using a credit card to flick it out.  I used this with success the other day, it got it out most of the way, then I just pulled out the rest!  A great tweezer substitute.

To reduce itching of a bite, cover with a piece of transparent tape. Tape creates a different sensation to the skin which can ease discomfort. This will also keep your little ones from scratching!!!

Cool Fix for Minor Skids and Scrapes
posted September 10, 2009 by PlayaPapa

Apparently this one's been in use for a long time.  If your child has a minor scrape or scratch while you're out and you don't have any antibacterial to keep it clean, then you might find a good use for that extra pack of sugar you have for your coffee.  Just make a paste from the sugar and some water and apply it to the scrape after you have cleaned it off with water.  Wash off after a minute or two and you're good to go!  You probably saved yourself 30 calories by using the sugar too!
